Vatican Hit by New Claims of Financial Corruption

It's smoke and mirrors about any real financial clean-up happening. Satan's puzzle palace isn't planning on cleaning itself up for real. These are possible puff-pieces meant to promote Francis as a "reformer".  If you know about the Vatican bank, these are games they have played for centuries.

BB, thanks for looking into this. Looks like it is full speed ahead to promote this Pope as a good guy even at the expense of former Popes.

Do you think these people were really arrested or is this just another smoke screen or are they "sacrificial lambs" so to speak?

The struggle between the old & new guard blah, blah, blah. Left & right distraction, no change. Matthew 23:1-12 - Don

I find it weird the Vatican can "arrest" people, and was going to mention this and didn't. Are they thrown into some dungeon in the basement? I hope for those people's sakes they really aren't languishing in some jail cell with absolutely none of the "legal rights" Western nations at least attempt to promise on the surface. Yes this is definitely to sell this Pope as the good guy who is different from the rest of the wretched bunch. It's all lies, old guard and new as the last commenter says.

According the Wikipedia,

Vatican City has no prison system, apart from a few detention cells for pre-trial detention.[92] People convicted of committing crimes in the Vatican serve terms in Italian prisons (Polizia Penitenziaria), with costs covered by the Vatican.[93]

The "crime" of these people was one of betrayal to the Pope and probably not one that would result in a jury trial or in an Italian court. Probably the Vatican has its own internal way of dealing with such matters and perhaps expelling the persons and stripping them of their citizenship. But it poses an interesting question as to what they mean by "arrest".

If this is merely a smokescreen, then nothing will happen after they have served their purpose. Or they may be scapegoats and given the heave ho.

It is interesting to read about the inner workings of Vatican City and all the infrastruction and how unique it is. And them sitting upon all the valuable artwork and yet not giving anything to alieve the suffering of those in the world who are starving, etc. Quite extraordinary. One can only wonder how they reconcile all of this.

Could be these people were going to expose more than Vatican City permits. I'm sure they have spy agents within to find out who are the true friends of the Pope and those who will betray the whole bunch of them. I'm sure there are orders given and if those orders are not carried out then to prison you go.

LOL I was being kind of funny but serious too. Their last Inquisition prisons were only closed in 1800. Thanks for posting Wikipedia Anon, looks like they ship them over to the Italians. Italy is one country I would never have interest in being. I am sure the puzzle palace is full of spies and all the wicked back stabbers in that place spy on each other and have dossiers a mile long.
