Commenters

                                         [picture cite]
Commenters,

I don't have the time to check them all out.

Why would someone come to this blog for a set period of time where they disagree with main doctrines, and post away?

It is funny how a couple have hidden major disagreements from me. Why hang out on a blog where you share core differences and hid them?

One commenter didn't even believe Jesus Christ was God from sometime ago. I have posted that He is over and over, no comment about this. He shared no disagreements with this theological stance until it suddenly came up one day.

One commenter who didn't believe in demons, managed to keep this under her hat for months, I am sure some of my posts mentioned demons along the way.

Sometimes I do get some discernment about one, but it is hard to start banning otherwise polite commenters in front of others with no explanation. I already keep enough insults off the comments.

There are so many game players online, it's disgusting. I believe people come here to stir trouble and they tag team it too. Tag Team means they will even fight each other in front of us. The one complaining about a poster over and over until I left their comments off was troublesome. Their obsession made no sense. I can't keep track of what one commenter does elsewhere online. I am not a psychic to know their other identities.

It reminds me of the days on the Christian message boards.

You start wondering how many are real, or are not. There is one Christian message board where I believe the majority were astroturfers. These are played roles, where one person will pretend to be many others. They will seek to influence and confuse. At this particular message board I was isolated and ousted for questioning Christian Zionism and the Knights of Malta Dominionist contingent.

Probably websites that have heavy political and religious discussions get those who want to play gate keepers of thought. I wonder about one political and economic website where 80% of the commenters seem to share the same exact smarmy sense of humor.

I think about the games just to confuse people.

I want to keep the anonymous comments and definitely don't have the resources to ask every commenter if they are actually a born again Christian or not and what their beliefs really are.

I know that Satan's servants lie. Even here some may be sincerely deceived but I know the game players are here too.

The Problems with Christian Message Boards

Dear BB,

jl was going to ask Lena the same question, but you beat me too it.
jl wanted to ask if she believes Jesus is God. She never answered that question.

There is an old age adage that says "idle time is the devils playground". You see that time and time again on message boards, social media, and comments sections. If its not comments from the pits of hell, its comments from the doctrines of hell. Demons are bullies. Message boards have a lot of bullies. Commenters can be bullies.

jl doesn't do any social media or message boards anymore. That world is too evil, compassionless, deceptive, no restraints, pure evil.

Thank you BB for staying strong.

love,

jl, humble friend of Yeshua

BB, I appreciate your blog and I am thankful for it, because you have helped me to mature in the Lord, and grow in knowledge. I think it is interesting that God gave us a way to know if someone is a genuine brother or sister in Christ, and that is His own word. Those that claim to be Christian but balk at what the Bible teaches expose themselves. And I praise God, because many exposed themselves on one of your previous posts. While they may try to obfuscate an issue, they cannot so long as the whole counsel of God is brought to light. Satan seems to only tell half of the truth, as a snare. Those that are being led of God will be led into all truth, and will hold fast to it, and encourage others in it, not lead them away from it. 1 John has been very helpful to me in learning discernment. Again, thank you for your time and effort, it is a blessing to others who are learning and growing. "T"

I never saw an answer to that question either JL

I tend to avoid message boards and the like more and more. I avoid the Christian message board world, full of its astroturfer's internet agents, bullies and cultists. It is an exhausting world even for those who may enter it to witness.

Thank you JL.

Unknown thanks too. They will balk even at the most foundational issues. Denying that demons and Satan exists is a pretty big one. Satan mixes truths and lies, they act like they can pick and choose bits and pieces of the counsel of God. It doesn't work that way. I do not want to lead people into the trap of being know-it-alls, we may sharpen iron on smaller matters but if your worldview is so twisted you deny the existence of evil or present the psychology world's definition of it, something is very wrong. God bless you too.

I thought it was really wierd that one poster, who I'd never noticed the name before, said you were responsible for all the evil in your life? Like no one else could have done evil against you or something. It reminded me of those people into the "laws of attraction" baloney. That was just awful. Sorry for that attack on you BB. That was so uncalled for. Why did that person suddenly appear and say that?

I have noticed that many of these sites resemble kindergarten or preschool or high school mentalities with their immaturity and clicks. Lots of bullying, unjustified accusations, etc. If you simply don't agree with them then you are labeled as 'the enemy.' Lots of slander and such also. Honestly it is impossible to know if anyone is "true" or "false" and it is a waste of time trying to figure it out. We cannot know that. We are told to judge the fruit. Judge what the person is saying. Do they speak the truth about the bible and Christian doctrines? If they give analysis of current events, does it make sense or come to pass, etc.? That is the only legitimate thing to look at. We have discernment but guess what; sometimes even we are wrong. Can you imagine having railed accusations against someone for no justifiable reason and call them false and in a witch's coven, or the devil, only to have both you and that person standing before the throne of God, and He is asking you why you said such things about His servant (whose halo is shinier than yours by the way)? I pity that soul.

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."
Matthew 12; 36

Repent.

Ummm, halos are pagan. Believers don't have them. But they do have things like charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self control, I missed self righteousness though. That might be why your halo is so shiny. We will give account for our words and actions, whether we told the truth or not. And some folks are in covens and try to post and confuse people. Calling them out is not bad or wrong. Mark those who cause divisions. When people cling to the Word of God, it brings unity around it. Any other kind is a sham and a shame. I like what you said at the end though, Truth Vigilantee,
REPENT.

BB, I’ve been a reader for about a year. I’ve learned from your posts on Quiverfull, dominionism, Zionism, occult symbols, etc. I am encouraged when you post about your struggles with depression and poverty. You are genuine in a way that’s rare in this online world of people trying to look like “good Christians,” always happy and blessed.

I understand your desire to keep your blog free from trolls and agents of destruction. I agree they are out there. I don’t know if LenaMarie was real or a troll.

I am not a troll, and I am writing this comment with care. I think you were wrong in how you handled LenaMarie. You accused her of being a universalist and then didn’t hear her out. You put her on the defensive, and naturally she left.

You are unhappy that, as a longtime reader, she never openly disagreed with you. Maybe she never wanted to debate the issue, but this time she felt compelled to respond because you used the strong word “heresy”?

I haven’t openly disagreed with you, because it’s your blog, and I’m here to learn, not to debate you. But you and I differ on many things. I keep the Torah, including Sabbath/clean meats AND the weightier matters (Matt. 5:17-20, 23:23). I believe women can teach in the assembly (Deborah, Huldah, Priscilla, Junia). I believe in a literal millennium (not the fake one the Zionists are preparing). All this based on study of the Bible, not teachings of man. Will you say I’m in a cult?

“He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.” TruthVigilantee is right that sometimes our discernment is wrong. I have been wrong before. I want to stop trying to “discern” people and just let them show their fruit.

“Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savor: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honor” (Eccl. 10:1). BB, you have a reputation for wisdom and honor among believers who frequent this blog. They will follow the example you set.

Thank you for letting me comment. In love and peace,

-texaswildflower

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: Acts 24

Paul was called a heretic by the Pharasees. Yet Paul continued to use the word heresy, see in Gal 5 and 1Cor 11. Why did he continue to use the word heresy? The answer is in when Paul says I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the prophets.

texaswildflower,
Regarding “clean” meats, please don’t stop at Matthew, you need to keep reading.

The concept of “clean” meat was abolished by the Word of the Lord in the book of Acts. As in all things, the whole counsel of God's Word needs to be applied.

Acts 10:12-15 (see entire chapter for context)
…12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Just read the older post that included the exchange with LenaMarie and her questioning the existence or “tradition” of the Devil and demons. But she doesn’t seem to question the existence of “Satan an Angel”, or “his angels”.

May I say something? BB, you were correct in how you handled the situation. Imbedded in her long, flowery, subtle questioning was the total rejection of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and a refusal to identify Satan and his fallen ones by their evil monikers or deeds.

Genesis 3:1 (KJV)
3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Revelation 12:9 (KJV)
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Dear Texaswildflower,

jl wish that the debate was over the semantics of the word "heresy"

However when Lena made this comment, jl knew this wasn't just about semantics. She said

"Why is it necessary for salvation to believe in demons as defined by tradition as external disembodied spirits and to believe in the eternal torment of unbelievers? "

This is the same mistake the Sadducees made. They didn't believe in the afterlife.

Lena also contradicted herself by saying that all we should worry about is the things essential for salvation in Hebrews 6. The item listed in Hebrews 6 is Eternal Judgment, the very thing Lena did not feel was necessary.

jl knows to look up what scriptures says in every dealing in life. This is not "Im better than you" attitude. This about life and death. There is only have shot at eternity, so it is essential to get it right.

love,

jl, humble friend of Yeshua.

Dear BB,

I say you have no obligation to post anyone's comments on your blog that you discern are posted for the purpose of keeping you busy countering them so you have less time to research for your blog.

Sue I noticed that too. Hey they have the infusion of New Age and Karma teachings in their cult. Telling me I was responsible for all the evil in my life was part of this. Then they can play blame the victim and lack of compassion games, I wonder how much "positive thinking" is entrenched in their cult too.

It's the usual attacks and mind games they use to throw people off. I had severely wicked people in my life [some have seen some of my articles about departing from them] and had nothing to do with their choosing that evil.

Bible Believer said...

Truth Vigilante, some of the board moderators and bloggers may get caught up. With the mind games, lies, conintelpro shills, they have endless techniques to bury you deep. Some do not understand some of my decisions, where there is a time to cut through the snow jobs and be finished but this is my blog. I try to avoid the useless fighting. Even with the upset Orthodox, I allow them some posts but do not have time for the endless theological arguments they would try to bury us in. Obscure cults, I don't have time for 20 paragraph dissertations as to why their cult is a morass of confusion and a path way to hell and perdition. Don't believe in demons or Satan or hell? That enough to know someone has departed from the Word of God.

Some here would not even imagine the onslaught this blog gets. Sometime my mind boggles that this little blog gets all this attention. They can't even leave some small niche of the internet alone.

Lisa Ruby is right, I think even some come here to use up my time. Time is of the essence, it is something I am always short on, even if I have circumstances in life where some would think I would have more of it.

It's true I can't take the time to figure out every shill. No person on earth could do this. Why Christians can be sent discernment we are not mind readers. This is not a babysitting job either. LOL

I agree about the fruits. There are times one has to cut to the chase too. I've seen boards and blogs taken over by universalists. I don't have time for the "There is no hell or Satan or demons" contingent spreading their confusion here.

BB - Google "the spoon theory".
It's interesting if you have health problems that eat up your time... I always called it the"I only have a basket full of energy and once it get's used up" theory!
You don't have to apologize about time limits.
May God Bless you - Sue

Sure will do so, Sue

Thanks there is only so much time in the day and energy is a limited commodity :) though I have prayed for more from time to time.

God bless you too.

I come because I believe it is the duty of Christians to discourse with those who do not agree. It is also the duty of Christians to shine the light where there is confusion. A Christian is not afraid of a disagreement, and will face it head on.

Discourse it's necessary because we live in a works of confusion, and alone, we are like dull blades. Iron sharpens iron. Besides that, it should be our prayer that if the other discovers fault, we will be receptive to that fault, and not fight it as Arius did when the truth that Christ is God was affirmed before him. Rather, he stood firm against God, and would have been pardoned of his exile by Emperor Constantius, had God not caused him to slip into eternity in similar manner to Elvis, sitting upon the toilet and having a heart attack.

Sure, I disagree with you. I even get quite heated. But I respect that you take it seriously enough to even engage in discussion. I cannot judge how God judges, but I believe taking the need for truth seriously means something before God. Should I meet you in the Kingdom of God, may we greet each other as brothers (or brother and sister... I've never gotten your gender, embarrassingly enough) and then spend eternity praising God.

Christ is risen!
Christos Anesti
Christos Voskresi!
Al'masih kam!

Sidenote: I have taken ill with something that is causing convulsions and effecting my digestive system. I beg your prayers for my recovery as it has been nearly three months since I was well.
