Doug Phillips Resigns From Vision Forum.

Vision Forum Leader Resigns Over a Would-Be Affair.

Doug Phillips: The Big Scandal You Didn't Hear About and Why It Matters

Remember Vision Forum idealizes and sells the package of the "ideal", perfect {Stepford?} "Christian" via having a picture perfect family  to the world. Some of what he writes is odd, he claims he never knew the partner in the "biblical sense", but was "inappropriate".

Here you see the cracks in the whole religious facade. Doug Phillips supports the patriarchy movement, what does a wife in this system do when the patriarch falls off the pedestal or is doing wrong by them? Sadly we probably will hear little from Mrs. Phillips. How many of these types who have preached perfect morals practice anything but?

If you based your whole religious system on having the "perfect family", and being a "perfect" patriarch, it's all doomed for failure.

This whole article saddens me greatly, for it is becoming a common thread woven across the evangelical landscape here in our nation. Far too many top down authoritarian type churches and relgious organizations are falling and failing in the area of inappropriate relationships. And what is even more problematic is the fact that many within leadership are in the business of being God's police force in pointing out the shortcomings and sins of those they deem are lesser and weaker, all the while committing atrocious sins of their own in secret.

As God, the Holy Spirit, is revealing more and more truth concerning the iniquity taking place within the harlot church system, my prayer is for those who are on the receiving end of religious abuse, those who are innocent before the LORD, but in effect, are being blamed for sins they did not committ. In apiritually abusive relgious systems, weaker "scapesheep" become the targets of cunningly manipulative authority figures, whether it is the pastor, church board, elders, deacons, deaconesses, basically anyone who proudly wears their "title."

Jesus speaks to us in Matthew 20:25-26 this, "But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your servant."

Discernment is cruicial in church systems for not all are equipped to be leaders for they crave power and control. I believe most pastors and church leaders crave the attention, power control over people as their fruits are of lordship, rather than laying down their lives in servanthood. Look at how we pay special attention to and shower the leadership with praise, adoration, and material things. This is idolatry and an abomination to our LORD Jesus Christ, meanwhile the lower laity sheep are starving for the truth and love of our Father in Heaven. May God forgive us in the church systems.

God is calling out a people for Himself and the invisible church will be glorified before Jesus one day, His precious Bride.

Yes, a wife is to be obedient but so is a husband to be loving, faithful, long-suffering, humble, serving, setting an example, providing for her needs, and much more, even laying down his very life for her, as he is to be Christ like towards her. Moreover, we know that there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female for those in Christ Jesus. Therefore all are to be loved and respected equally in the sight of God.

It's almost become a cliche hasn't it, the well known evangelical leader preaching morality who is found to be an adulterer or in other cases an active homosexual.Always wonder how much of this is planned? I know all people sin but the rate of the philanderers behind the pulpit seems higher then it is for the general population. Maybe it has to do with the personality traits of those who seek fame and are hard driving enough to rise through the religious ranks. Add in the corruption and this is what you get.

With adoring congregations who see the man as more then an ordinary person, the fix is in, for the power and control to serve as an aphrodisiac to wicked people. They spend all their time pleasing this man and competing for his attention. One sad thing about fallen human nature I have seen myself in this life, is how the sociopaths and narcissists of the world can conduct people like orchestras.

These are churches formed along the lines of power and control and you are right these men, sure spend a lot of time making the rules for others [even long lists of ones they made up] and then breaking many of those rules. They see themselves above their own congregations. Many I do not believe are sincere, but lying wolves and knowing deceivers. I suppose you can guess which category I put the politically connected Phillips in. What surprises me is how many actually manage to get caught. I believe that God is now wanting people to know the true nature of many of these men, and is allowing the things done in darkness to come out into the light.

Yes these types do have their "scape-sheep" they project upon, and also use to keep their evil deeds hidden. For these types it is all about power and control. I may do an article on how wicked people operate and get down to the nitty gritty at their techniques. I see this in the church system so often.

Thank you for that verse Anon. Yes Jesus warned about those who would lord over others. Isn't that the definition of DOMINIONISM, they want to LORD over people. Even Doug Phillips system for the family is all about power and control. By his rules, I am a heathen for "disobeying my earthly father" and becoming a Christian at all. Patriarchy isn't a system that allows for one to have any free thoughts of their own and puts man's rules above those of God's.
One thing about the church system I do not miss, is the elevation of man. I do not believe that it ever was to be a one man show where one man keeps it going and where the whole church revolves around and yes they seek after the power and control, and do not operate as servants. Young women in churches like this are seen as prey to be used--think Jack Schaap. I hope and pray more people do come out and when they do think to themselves, these pastors are wicked and misleading, they do not suppress that thought. Many of them are indeed.

I think this is why in the pulpits one is seeing the same personality over and over. Those who desire, power and control over others, are the ones gaining these positions in the fallen away church even among the ones who are not knowing deceivers or part of the "brotherhood".

I believe your statement "I know all people sin but the rate of the philanderers behind the pulpit seem higher then it is for the rest of the population.", appears to be true on the surface. Our Holy Spcriptures clearly tell us "But there will be false prophets among you, who privily (secretly) shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord who brought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetessness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgement has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber." 2 Peter 2:1-3

God is watching and He knows who are truly His and who are just going through the motions.

There has been an increase in the religious spectrum here in our country regarding "seeking after a sign and a wonder," for whatever reason, I can only speculate. I previously was a part of this movement, but upon God, the Holy Spirit, revealing the truth to me as He illumated the truth of Scriptures to my soul, I discovered that I was a part of the "signs and wonders movement" myself, and attached to this system of theology was dominionism. I could not put my finger on it at the time, for I did not read the Bible for myself, and allowed those who held authority positions, many the pastor, his wife, and a few deacons and deaconesses whose opinions I valued highly; perhaps more so than the Word of God. So, I am guilty as charged before a Righteous and Holy God, for I did not follow His Precepts, "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the cousel of the ungodly." Psalm 1:1. I must take responsibility for my own actions and claim the sin that is within me as my own, confessing it before our Father, and being forgiven and set free from the bondage of false teachers and the followers of false teachers. With that said, the Scriptures began speaking to my being as I asked God to reveal truth to me personally as I long to know Him relationally.

It appears, in the natural, that many leaders within Christianity are falling as a result of their personal (much of what is done in secret, until the day of calling them out is revealved) philanderings becoming publically known. Some are stirred by their conscience in the flesh, others are stirred by the power of the Holy Spirit convicting them of their sin...as it should be with all who are truly born of the Spirit, and still others will continue to hide their sins all the while lording it over others-the wolves in sheep's clothing. The Word of God is faithful and true when it says, "Now as He (Jesus) sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them, "Take heed that no one deceives you. "For many will come in My name, saying I am the Christ, and will deceive many." Matthew 24:3-5

The disciples were asking Jesus for the signs of His Second Coming, which all of us born again believers look forward to, as well as the signs of the end of the age. And the first sign Jesus indicates in a list of signs is "the sign of the deceivers" who come using His name, and He said many will use His name as well as many would be deceived by them.

So in understanding the times in which we live, we can discern the very Holy Spirit inspired Word of God to be true in every way, for the false prophets and teachers are increasing, especially here in our country, where people have become reliant upon others to teach them (lord over them) as they do not choose to read, study, and meditate upon the Word for themselves. It is far easier walking on the wide road for there is more room to quiver, than it is to walk the narrow with Jesus Christ. We have not tested the spirits are our Scriptures command us to do, with everything and everyone, as to their teachings and belief systems, and our filters have become clogged with the things of this world and we love it so.

I would be remiss if I did not confess my own sin in the fact that I too, was led by a friend into the teachings of Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and Glen Beck (of all people, as he promotes patriotic nationalism as a religion.) This friend sat under the teachings of another local self proclaimed Bible Study teacher who espoused to the doctrine that Muslims and Christians worship the same God; and this very same individual also strongly promoted the other individuals listed. So I accepted the books, CD's, and DVD's this friend gave me embarking on a journey of spiritual enlightenment according to their preaching and teachings. I also pushed their teachings onto my family, which they politely rejected at first, until the day came when they finally told me what needed to be said, "You push everyone else's teachings on us, but we never see you reading the Bible or quoting what Jesus said. You have lost your first love." This came at about the same time my friend indicated the true nature of their heart by saying, and I quote, "Well you know you can't go totally by the Bible because it is written by men."
In my hurt, embarrassed, and broken state, I accepted the wise counsel of my family and began reading my Bible more, instead of just a day here and a day there, and truly becoming a student of the Word. We know in part, that correction from those who truly love the LORD and love others as themselves in graciousness and humilty, is sound correction for our own spiritual well being. So know, that I do not speak from a heart of self righteousness, for all of us are not immune to deception and we all need to "Take heed" as Jesus commanded His disciples.

Let us pray for all of those who are abused and damaged by these false teachers and preachers, or wolves in sheep's clothing, as the Scriptures call them, as well as those who have left the institutional church system who have been falsely accused, whose names have been lied and slandered by those who claim the name of Christ, and for God's protection over their souls, marriages, families, and friendships with others, as the false system seeks revenge. We know that our struggles are not against flesh and blood, etc. (Ephesians 6:15-19), and so we can rest in the fact that our hope and strength comes from our LORD Jesus Christ, who has all authority over heaven and earth. Matthew 28:18. He is still in control as LORD over all. Alleluia and Amen!
