Christians Have Lost Culture War

                                          [picture cite]

Hey it was a war designed to be lost.

"The Bible Belt Is Collapsing;' Christians Have Lost Culture War, Says ERLC President Russell Moore"

Culture basically means world on a very broad level.

Battle for the world instead of the gospel, you lose.

See: "False Culture Wars and Battle for the Manhattan Declaration"

1 John 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

It was never ours to win. Our kingdom is not of this world.

Well first I'd have to ask this guy, what proof does he have that the Bible belt is "collapsing"? What does that even mean, "collapsing"? Did every church close? Is every city a red-light district throughout?

We have to remember that Paul the apostle was used to plant churches in some of the most fleshy, hedonistic, sex-sin-crazed places that the world has ever seen. Greek culture was pedophilic and homosexual, Roman culture was brutal and orgiastic. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but that was what they dealt with.

Which is why in the church in Corinth, they struggled with such fleshy stuff. So did they in Thessalonika, and Ephesus, and Rome, and many other places.

And in none of those places did Paul say, "Let's take the government for Jesus!", or, "Let's create a Christian culture throughout all these moral wastelands!".

Rather, Paul wanted to try to win souls to Jesus Christ for salvation, that they be in heaven with Jesus, and not hell.

And that is the Biblical focus.

But removing that Biblical focus, means that every catholic/dominionist/reconstructionist/amillenialist/etc, can seek political and church power. That is why they move from the Biblical Gospel, to the "social gospel" or the "political gospel" and the "culture wars".

Someone says "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas"? GASP!

That bothers them more, than someone going to hell.

I believe the RR message board is the canary in the coal mine for the religious right. I am copying and pasting this disturbing post

"This is disturbing, to say the least. I don't see how some threads on this board suggest the possibility of the genocide of the church before the rapture, though other threads support the idea of us being snatched away before any severe persecution of the church, while things are like in the days of Noah, with people buying, selling, and marrying. Which is it? Clearly, none of us have a crystal ball and we cannot know for sure what will happen, but aren't the Word and the scriptures that describe the times and happenings around the time of the rapture there to give us hope that things will continue on as "normal" before we meet Jesus in the air? I am feeling very defeated today, and reading that many think we will face genocide here before the rapture is certainly not qualifying as a blessed hope. I feel like just giving up. I can't continue hanging onto a false hope (I'm not saying the rapture is false) of being snatched away at any second while going about our normal lives and living in fear of what will happen to my young kids. If it was just me and my husband, I could deal. But not my kids. I can't bear it. Excuse my rambling. "

At least they are being honest. However, this Christian is not prepared for the Antichrist or persecution. When we spend our time focusing on making this world "heaven", we fail to prepare for Christ's kingdom, which requires a blood covenant. Just as a virgin sheds blood at the consummation of marriage, the saints will also shed blood before the return of Christ. Fortunately, a majority of readers of your board BB understand this reality. You have given them oil for their lamps. As for the readers of RR board, they are holding lamps without oil. As the call has commenced, "behold the Bridegroom cometh!", the foolish virgins are beginning to panic and realize they have no oil. They will run to political pundits, false prophets, and other worthless sources to "buy" their oil.

Todd Strandberg and Terry James will be accountable to God for leading people astray, because they prefer to believe a lie than the truth.

May God have mercy on their souls!

I agree Joe.

I can tell you the Bible belt is "collapsing" the pretext that the churches down there are just as apostate. I know and have known people nation wide I talk to. Moving to the Bible Belt doesn't make finding a decent church any easier.

If the churches actually were OUTSIDE OF the culture it would have turned out different, today they want to join it and be "culturally relevant." Too many of fundamentalist ones spent their time in these losing culture wars, which to be frank were mostly directed by politicians and Rome at the top.

I agree with this definitely....

"And in none of those places did Paul say, "Let's take the government for Jesus!", or, "Let's create a Christian culture throughout all these moral wastelands!".
"

That is why the churches are no longer the salt.

The churches either sold out to culture [the world] or got on the conquer culture [the world] bandwagon.

You are right the focus was to win souls. There are very few of them now doing that.

One thing I noted is in all the churches here, one couldn't even find a tract or anyone that went soul winning. There was one IFB [kind of on the Dominionist end] that did. But even with that one good thing, what was I to think of the RAH-RAH AMERICA stuff and pictures of fighter planes on Memorial Day [doing the work of the NWO for endless wars overseas]

You are absolutely right that is why they have gone the social gospel way or the political gospel way. Social for the left, political for the right. All lies.

I think the Christmas stuff is nonsense. The world is falling apart and people are being lost to hell and they worry the most about not being able to celebrate their pagan holiday.

Anon, I agree about RR. There one can see a composite of how they are busying brainwashing the right. It is interesting to see what is banned there and NOT SAID.
One thing on false religious right boards, they always sell the RAPTURE, telling people they will escape all tribulation.

I suppose that post does not surprise me. Basically she is saying "only you nutters believe there will be persecution of Christians and you're being a downer to me man!" This is a way they can psychologically influence people reading at that board to think, you know those Christians warning of the trib or being martyred in the future, really are too negative, we shouldn't listen to them! The worried housewife, that is one of the people they will easily get to line up for the mark because they "do not want their children to starve". Reading the Foxes Book of Martyrs people refused to deny Jesus Christ even realizing their farms would be taken away and the rest of the family was in danger.

Nope she is not prepared, not at all. She will be one of the ones where the "danger" will have her line right up. I am not going to be prideful and assume that my courage will outdistance everyone's but I pray if I live long enough and am here for the NWO take over and persecution is in full swing that the Holy Spirit will give me the courage to continue my stand for Jesus Christ to the end.

Everything is about this world now. Most of these Christians don't even think in terms of 'eternity' and where souls will go. Why focus on corrupt political power otherwise as their saviors? It brings up when Jesus said this.

Matthew 16:25

King James Version (KJV)

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

I think most of the readers here do understand. Those other people are in a panic and that leads them open to all the wicked manipulators. One has to be having God direct their steps. What do I do know Lord? What should I do about this? Also the idea that this life is the top priority has taken them away from the love of God.

I agree that one day those Rapture Ready people will be held accountable. I see where we have ended up TODAY 10 years later due to their Bush and politician worshipping ways. They are still telling people Pre-TRIB RAPTURE RAPTURE RAPTURE, no tribulation for you when the Bible says this...

John 16:33

King James Version (KJV)

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

You do realize I consider them absolutely part of the "network" and you know what I mean by the network.

The so-called "religious right" eventually passed the baton to the "religious left"(ie-Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Brian McLaren, etc) after the turn of the 21st Century. It was around 2004(when I was just a window-shopping Christian) when it *looked like* their "culture wars" were being won in these elections, that was around the time when Joel Osteen's and Rick Warren's false gospels started infiltrating these GOP-voting churches.

Come to think of it - these "religious right"/"moral majority" people like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Paige Patterson, Charles Stanley, etc are/were close friends with Rick Warren et al(ie-Falwell attended Warren's Purpose Driven conferences). And people like George W. and Gingrich endorsed Warren's PD ministry.

As for RR - was a member there from Summer 2008 to Spring 2009(ended up getting banned, no big loss) - yes, they too are pretty much yoked with the whole RR crowd. But nonetheless, something didn't feel right that 2008 election year when they acted like John McCain was this born again Christian(when for years and years this same crowd exposed his liberalism).

Bible Believer said...

FaithGuy, yes you are right about that, they passed the baton to the "religious left", even there we saw both converge with the support of globalism, ecumenism and more. Rick Warren was seen as a member of the "right" but really was one to bring forth that convergence with his globalist agendas, joining the elite in fighting AIDs, etc. All of the religious right yes did support Rick warren. Yes I thought that was silly about John McCain, what's "conservative" about him. He is famous for being an aisle crosser but just an example of how both parties really support the same agendas.

Without the media, liberals/atheists/satanists would be powerless. Their sphere of influence would be relegated to dirty little whore towns. It is only because of the constant bombardment of filth and immorality that we receive everyday via TV radio and internet, that they are able to reach us. It is a spiritual battle we are facing, that is being won by them temporarily through these mediums which they control.

OK, was just reading this. Ray Comfort claims his Twitter account was hacked by some atheist evolutionist.

Honestly, is anyone really buying this?

‘Evolution vs. God’ Filmmaker’s Twitter Account Gets Hijacked by Mystery Atheist With an Ultimatum

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/11/11/mystery-atheist-co-opts-famed-christian-evangelists-twitter-account-and-gives-him-an-ultimatum/

--------------------------

This just sounds nothing more than a sideshow(rather than a born again believer suffering persecution). And notice how it's scripted in a way to stir up everyone's emotions.

Again, I don't buy Comfort's Twitter account somehow getting hacked.

I could be wrong but the atheist comments look fake, they are too "nice". Hey I was among the "freethought" crowd when UU, so I'm talking as one who came from the other side of the fence. LOL Donate to the red cross, don't be a selfish Christian, what a helpful atheist!
