Spiritual Tests

 Spiritual Tests: Don't Sell Out

Hebrews 11:24-26

King James Version (KJV)
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Satan's workers want to own people, want to make them afraid and get them to sell out to the devil's devices.

There are times in life where the world will tell you to "sell out". That is the best term I can come up for it. The devil wants your soul, bought and sold. However us Christians have been bought with a price.

1 Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

There was one time in my life where one of the devil's children held out a position to me, but I refused it, knowing what he was part of.  I was facing a spiritual test this week, that was immense, in everyday life, it has nothing to do with this ministry or blog but with removing myself from wicked people that God told me to depart from in regular life. One thing some wicked types do not like it if you do walk, and will try to throw out a "net" or two to draw you back in.   God may sometimes send trials to grow you in your faith.

NOT GIVING IN TO FEAR OF MAN

Proverbs 29:25

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

I am shy in real life, and well while not timid, one thing we all have to watch out for is fear of directing our moves, where fear of censure, fear of lost positions and status must never have us depart from God's Will. Many of us Christians already have faced some persecution, but of course there are Christians who have faced the ultimate persecution which is the possible lost of their lives or lost lives. So fear of violence and lost of life, is there, but there is other ways fear is used, human beings fear losing other things too, and those things will be used by Satan to bring you into fear and out of obedience from God.

Many human beings fear being cast out of the group, they use that one constantly. Human beings being social animals, have needed other human beings to survive for food, shelter, and more. So this is one that can hit at the core of someone even questioning their ability to survive and where trust in God must come first.  Here too, God mandates obedience to him first. Why else did Jesus Christ warn us there would be division even within our very families? What if you're the only Christian in your family in a Muslim or Hindu nation? There are people facing those trials. Even in America, some of us are the only Christians and not all families are reacting with tolerance to one's beliefs or even God's directing you to witness to others or warning them about things.

POSSIBLE DIVISION FROM FAMILY

Micah 7:6 - For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man's enemies [are] the men of his own house.

Non-believers get outraged by this verse and others in the New Testament claiming that Jesus wants people to "hate" their families but if you are a committed Christian and they are NOT, the divisions by the way get wider over the years. They do not get better, if they remain non-Christians and rejecters of the gospel with no true love for seeking after the truth or desire for it. In my case, there is not one Christian among the family and my being Christian made them very unhappy. I may have mentioned this before but at one family event all were forbidden to speak of anything religious even in passing. I did not go. Some kept their children away from me, as if Christianity was an infection they would catch. One doesn't have to get out their bible and warn of hell repeatedly to others to get this reaction, trust me on that. Some early witnessing, just being you, a Christian with a relationship with God is enough. And the more the years go by and the longer they have rejected the gospel, the chasm grows wider and wider. For those hostile to the gospel, God may direct you to depart ways from them.

One thing to ponder too here as the times grow more wicked, non-Christian families, aren't going to be supporting you in refusing to give in to man, such as not taking a would be mark of the beast, or submitting to wicked parts of the system. Spiritual blindness will rule your worldly clan, and if you mention even the most minute current events or other things with a biblical interpretation, the price can be outward mocking and being told you are "crazy". For me, warning them about 9-11 years ago was a massive mistake, and even gentle surface stuff earned great vilification. Discussing bible prophecy one time earned me laughter at the dinner table.

Some Christians may face families where they see your religious beliefs as "evil"--leaving a false church, in my case the Catholic church. Remember here even Jesus was told he was "evil" by the Pharisees as they conspired to arrest him. The world will tell you, to suppress your beliefs, hide them, and compromise them to keep non-Christian families happy and non-disturbed. Even here apply biblical reminders about throwing pearls, and departing from the wicked. There are times where God is to come before family. The world will tell you that family ties are more important then God and while parents have the duty to take care of children and God has his commandments regarding an unsaved spouse, speaking of adults, if they are hostile to the gospel or to you, this is a time to rethink things. God and God's family is what matters most.

Luke 14:26 (KJV)

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

What else does this mean but that one must follow Jesus first and foremost, above life, and family?

The devil makes many too afraid to sacrifice these things. Life first, while we have heard about many martyrs, how many like Peter who was later forgiven for this, rejected Jesus under pressure?
And what about those who have a family who are overtly hostile to the gospel? Where God may be saying depart? Some may say "How can you leave your family"? Surely that is something the Muslim or Hindu convert to being born again Christian is facing. There's plenty of other false religions where your dedication to Jesus Christ means you are closed out of family events, refusing to attend masses, etc.

THE FEAR OF STANDING ALONE

The fear of standing alone is one of the biggest that human beings will reject even if it means standing alone on the side of God. Here they sell out their morals, principles and even themselves to be united with various groups, as they are told what to be and what to do. One way our world sadly works, is the wicked do garnish so much power via their lies and deceit, they know the masterful art of manipulating others, which is one reason in our fallen world, so many side with the wicked, while casting out the person who stands for goodness and ostracizing them or doing worse. This is one thing about human nature I have noted with time, how the wicked gain so much control via their deceit and lies. Many people are terrified of being that one person alone, and especially today in a narcissistic society where appearances count for so much, there's even far less willing to rock the boat and facing being rejected from the group. We are facing days coming where you may be the only Christian in the room, and there you must pray to God for strength to step aside and be with Him standing "alone" with God.

Being alone can scare people. Loneliness can be a giant burden to bear. For many of us who are out of the church system, I have written many times about how that can be lonely. You are forced even to pull away from people you care about, who are kind and nice. I still run into people from the Calvary Chapel I used to visit, they are good people but remaining in a false church. This can feel painful but one has no other choice but to obey God. I can tell in the church system, there are some who KNOW and have been warned by the Holy Spirit, but STAY out of fear of loneliness and losing social supports.

NOT SELLING OUT FOR MONEY OR STATUS

As many here know I have faced poverty in my life, worse then many Americans have faced. Money is that green paper that many sell their souls for. There is a growing trend in our society that has grown more godless. Old traditions, social contract and personal ties have broken apart more where now one's "ability to sell themselves" is paramount in a system that no longer flows along with spontaneous connection. What you have there then is even more of the wicked able to climb up, higher above among those wanting to play fair. This is why American society and others have grown more corrupt, and the luciferians have grown in power with many sociopathic and narcissistic footmen to do their bidding. Not all wealthy people are wicked, there are some who are fellow Christians called to different roles, but remember Jesus's eye of camel warnings and the warnings in the Bible about the wicked prospering.

Psalm 37

37 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Society uses envy and comparison of people to get them to focus on their material wealth. Notice how in our society "goodness" has been translated instantly into "achievement". Life for many has become a series of bucket lists to check off and compare to others. One insidious thing about all the focus on "self-improvement" in American society is most of it has to do with looks, money, status not character. I surprised a couple people when I told them I have thrown away the checklist of "achievement" for God's list of what to do. How many set aside the work of God for careers, or attaining status in this world. I know for many people God's will is that they work and take care of their families, but this definitely can mislead people too.

Society society uses fear, and stigma to worsen the effects of poverty beyond the food you may go without or the dangers you may face out on the street or in dangerous areas. I have faced those fears and extreme stigma, not knowing where the next meal would come from, and being treated like a nobody.  I didn't have God to call on for help during those days, but the memories remain with me. I never struggled with substance abuser or anything like that, many are falling off the ladder today in America, but you just don't see them on the news. They are invested in hiding the degree of poverty and the American Depression 2.0.

2 Timothy 3:3 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Condemnation for the poor but in American society, as the police state has grown, they have equated lawfulness to one's money, so if one can't afford a certain fee, they are branded a criminal and there too cast out of the mainstream of society. Here the devil tempts people with a giant bowl of money, and says "Come over here" to make life "easier", to make life "more fun" and to have more friends? Wealth is worshiped in our wicked world.

1 Timothy 6:9-11

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Ever wonder about all those guys and their endless "christian" conferences full of sci fi, and occult stuff? People find the Nephilim "exciting" and they know it sells. So there you go, they cast aside God's truth wanting to fill the seats up and earn the accolades and popularity of the world. They desire to win status. Perhaps a few start out sincere but one negative aspect of modern culture is now people are invested in wooing those with celebrity and status. All it takes for one to give attention to a new young pastor and bring him into "the fold" or "brotherhood" so to speak, and they will chip away at any protests he may have. Throw piles of money, attention and status and the picture grows worse. Some are literally bought off, starting off sincere, and maybe enticed by the status and money they could attain.

One thing I have noted in society is there is growing conformity, in that if one comes out with ideas that are considered threatening to the status quo, you will see doors closed. How many bible believing Christians have seen this? Like rats in the cage and maze all being rewarded with cheese, saying the "right" things bring more rewards. Ever wonder why so many in academia are extreme liberals? That's because the system rewards those who are.  Many fall into that trap making sure never to offend with politically incorrect statements or parroting what they are told to say, often times in different fields, should one cross certain lines there will be "punishment" and isolated. This has grown worse in a more homogenized world. One can see it with the pastors too, why are they so much alike? Well certain beliefs, statements and ways of being in the world are rewarded more then others. How many sell-out even their moral integrity to make sure their bank accounts stay full?

We are living in a world now that is rewarding the wicked more then ever before.

DEPARTING FROM THE CHURCH SYSTEM OR FALSE CHURCHES

There are many the churches led them to fall away from God Himself and they think these organizations define God, when they do not. Many of the other fears like the fear of being alone also connects here, as people stay in church houses with false preachers not to leave friends and family. There were many people I talked to who told me their pastor wasn't teaching everything correctly but that they did not want to walk, because their children needed a "youth group" or they had such close ties to a church they had been in for years.

For me there was sacrifice in pulling away from churches, it was not easy. I do not have a Christian family and have the circumstances were fellowship is a great desire. I desired the social ties and friendships, but here too we must obey God. Probably in 10 false churches in my area, I would have been welcomed and had plenty of friends, though perhaps once I opened my mouth a couple times, they would have been ready to be rid of me from the other side. One thing imperative to all Christians is the ability to separate the truth of God from the falsehoods of the churches, the "system" does not define God, it is man made. The true church is the ekklesia

ILLNESS and OTHER SUFFERING

Acts 14:22

King James Version (KJV)

22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Life can get very painful at times. Sometimes one's human body will break down and not operate correctly, this can be a spiritual test in itself too. It can be very scary. You wake up in pain, and severely ill, normal life has ceased long ago, and there is loss there. For some they may have been chronically ill for many many years or others it could be a terminal illness or pain. Some may lose a great number of people in a short period of time. You may be surrounded by wicked people, who have harmed and abused you even if you were able to depart via God's direction. You have become a crime victim, or your child is sick. The list can get very long.

Here too the Christian may ask why are we having so many trials and tribulations? This is a sin filled fallen world, where illness and disease have come in. Also sometimes we may have trials for God to mold us, in a certain way. Bad things do not come from God, but He can use them for greater good {Romans 8} One thing I note in the world is so many non-believers who want nothing to do with God because they believed He has failed them or they have suffered too much or allowed too much suffering in the world. They listen to Satan and turn their backs on God, and this leads them right into hell because they do not understand the source of sin and suffering in this world. For those with a relationship with God, when we suffer we should be running to Him for comfort. The world blames God for all evils. Jesus promised to bring us life more abundantly. Here too people need to focus on eternity as well.

In American society especially there is a lot of denials about the reality of life. The realities of this world is suffering, and while we have had our brief blip on the map of some prosperity and increased life spans which is now ending, most human beings in this world have suffered immensely.  I have written on this before but I believe many agendas are teaching callousness for the suffering, one of them, the "Think positive" movement. There are many who now teach that everything in life happens because of choices and that individuals are responsible for everything that happens to them from illness to poverty. There is this taint even in the new world order RIGHT wing, where they tell everyone who is poor or has faced hardship that they must have "chosen" where they are at, and they must be poor or sick due to a multitude of shortcomings. If you are troubled and hurting stay away from those people, realize that God understands what you are going through. The Disney "magical thinking" definitely has influenced our society in many ways.

SUMMING UP

There will be many spiritual tests in this life but God will give you the strength to get through them. Turn to Him first when going through a test and pray for help in dealing with it. Be careful of the advice of the lost world when facing a challenge. Realize that while some things happen due to sin, that many things happen outside a human being's control. Resist the world's messages of condemnation and conformity.

John 16:33

King James Version (KJV)

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

I wonder how many pasotrs started out as sincere christians who wanted to go into ministry due to love of god and desire to help people. But the whole system of modern church is so corrupting, and so hard even for the pastor and his family.

My father used to be in full time ministry and is now divorsed from my mother. Many other pastors are divorsed, or having difficulties behind closed doors. You have to turn into some sort of salesman and appease the financial supporters in order to support your family. And they demand many many hours from pastors.

I think it is a bad deal all around. Still wish I could find a good small biblestudy and prayer group.

What a timely blog post.I have to add my thank you to the many others. Thank you!

I struggle with the issues you with about, a lot.
I pray quite frequently for God to help me not to succumb to the materialism and consumerism that is so prevalent.
I have lived in poverty my whole life. I often feel out of place in my surroundings. In my area all the women have expensive coach purses and wear $100-$150 "Miss Me" brand jeans. They look at me like I am a giant, two headed gorilla because I don't.
Even the denim skirt wearing Baptist ladies in my area are bedazzling their backsides to look like the "Miss Me" jeans.

I feel self conscious a lot because I buy my clothing at thrift shops and yard sells. I even had a friend act as if they were ashamed and embarrassed of me shopping at a goodwill store.

I don't have any Christian friends or family so I have to just constantly attempt to reassure myself not to buy into the "keeping up with the Kardashians" mentality.(It used to be keeping up with the Jones'.)

I apologize to God a lot because I feel like I talk to him like he is one of my girlfriends but he is the only one I can talk to. I don't have anyone that I can talk to that would understand what I go through but Him.

I feel tempted a lot to spend more than I should on things that should mean absolutely nothing and it seems I am not the only one, the denim skirt wearing Baptist ladies have succumbed to mimicking it.

When you said,
"Like rats in the cage and maze all being rewarded with cheese, saying the "right" things bring more rewards."

It made me think of Joel Osteen and the like. Everything he says is neutral, as not to offend or upset anyone. He would not want to lose one penny of his $40 million dollar earnings.
I have thought for some years that most Pastors were only doing it as a job anymore. Now they see pastoring as being a potentially lucrative job.

I keep you in my prayers :)

I pray for everyone here.

Thanks first few anons and Rena :)

Yes leaving wicked family members is very hard, and there are times where one has a family and there isn't one Christian among them. It takes prayer and if you are around them you feel "sick" which is the Holy Spirit telling you to flee. Even adults sometimes have to face abusive people who are deceitful, lie at the drop of a hat, and it's God's will to depart from such people, DNA or not. I feel for anyone who has ever been in the position, it can be very painful. God bless you too anon and thanks for the remarks about my article.

I think many of the pastors get corrupted with time. The system itself probably weeds out the independent thinkers, and those who buck the system. Also in taking care of their families and "making a living", the compromises are probably step by step. Sorry about your family. I have heard a pastor's wife talk to me about some of the family pressures, the FISH BOWL affect as it were, and with the financial demands, and rest it does seem very stressful. One pressure put on all pastors is grow the church, grow the church, so you see an emphasis that leads to a focus on "winning" people in via the cult of personality. I have seen so many so EAGER to SELL like used cars salesmen under fire, that definitely is an ill effect. You are right about the demands, and especially in the churches that revolve around ONE MAN, the pressures are worse!

I pray I can find a small house church, bible study or prayer group too.

Thanks anon, I am sorry others here struggle too with the same issues but glad my article can be of help. One thing if you are very poor in America society it does take a lot of prayer, not succumbing to the stigma, the envy, the devil can bring you. They have set up our society in a way where if you are not part of the prevailing consumerist and materialist society there is immense stigma and judgment.

I was upper middle class as a child, but as an adult have lived in poverty my entire life. So I have seen both worlds. There plenty of people falling down the ladder in American society, wonder if the sociologists will ever tackle that one, if there is even money for any sociologists to be left. Sorry you have faced poverty your whole life. I am still poor now but the Lord meets my needs, and well can afford a computer hook-up obviously. :) I have been far poorer so take nothing for granted.

I feel out of place in my surroundings too, and even at the amounts of money people seem to be able to come by, when we have struggled. It can be horrible to see the waste, the designers clothes, etc. Dress can be a hard thing and I had times of such severe poverty, my dress set me apart automatically, things are better now, but even many Christian women are separated from those who dress immodestly or worldly. Don't feel self conscious about the thrift stores and yard sales. That is being smarter then buying expensive clothes that will drain out your ban account. I know it can be tough away from any Christians, and every one dressing in such attention getting and overly immodest ways. Yes you are right about it is Keeping up with Kardasians. Sometimes out in society, I have noticed the dress is growing worse, far far more immodest even among women my age. Also if you go to bigger places it gets worse. Rural old fashioned towns the people dress a bit different then in the big city.

That is alright to talk to God in a personal way, that is the relationship He wants with you. I have prayed about very odd things to God, and small matters, there is no limit in what you can discuss with God, He knows what you are thinking anyhow.

I think we all are tempted to spend money and to desire nice wardrobes. I do not think it is wrong to want to a nice and tidy outfit, but have to follow biblical reminders about keeping our dress modest. I tend to be one that has less interest in modern dress styles, and once got mocked for dressing like it was 1890! This one lady said to me, you dress like it is 1890 in all those long dresses, I am not so legalistic I am against women wearing pants if they are modest etc but even there, I have to be careful because I know what I like and could see me being tempted if any real money came my way to go all out in the clothing department. We have to be careful with the world infusing us with the attitude of focusing on our outward appearance.

Yes if you say the right things you are rewarded, which can give a sense of voicelessness to those who have alternative opinions which by the way is not their imagination. If people really do not like what you are saying they will do what they can to silence you, such as a relative of mine forbidding the discussion of certain topics.

Yes Joel Osteen is an ear tickler that never upsets anyone. You notice those types, they always stay "neutral" and never take a firm position on anything.

It makes them big money. Just look at politicians and newscasters, they never rock the boat. I dare say in the corporate world even if you are an opinionated person with some less then politically correct statements, they will shunt you to the side.

I think the pastors are focused on the job angle of it all, and their interests in making money for their families lead to the compromises.

Thanks for your prayers :)

I was also upper middle class growing up and have been lower middle class or poor most of my adult life. But I think part of that is I didn't go after mammon like my siblings. They were more like my parents. And all athiest. My brother told me they actually think I'm a loser.I have heard this word being used by a lot of upper middle class people lately.Maybe it's just the ones I grew up with.I really don't like that concept.I had to separate myself from my brother for variuos reasons;one being he called some very nice people Jesus freaks in a very derogatory way.I pray for him because it's like he's making himself an enemy of God..The interesting thing is I've gotten over feeling bad about myself around athiests;it's church christians I'm now having a hard time with.I actually feel too poor to go to a church..I feel like I have nothing to give.No money, not a lot of energy for church activities.I do think it may be a social club for many, and I need to check out those feelings with Jesus..

LOL with 1890, I did take it as a compliment, you are right back then while it was not perfect, the world always has been wicked, then there was a notion of morality and character!

Anon, sadly many people are falling down the economic ladder in America but as I have said in America, its not so much going without, and the poverty is worse in other places still as even the poorest here can get food and water most of the time, a lot of the burden can be the stigma and being called loser. I have written some articles some time ago where I dealt with this issue quite a bit...
http://galatiansfour.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20Poor

I believe its gotten worse out there, and I have been called a "loser" before, [in many circles if the cash is not there, even if you are college educated or seek to live a dignified life poor or not, wicked people worship mammon and insult those at the power levels of the pyramid]

Pray for those who mock you but yes I know it can hurt.

I think the abuse of the poor is growing worse, I wrote about it acouple years ago, maybe time to relook at that again.

Sorry your brother mocked Christians to you, I relate to family members having done the same. I got huge laughter before just for stating I believe we could be in the last days.

Atheists well at a certain point you understand they have no conviction, no moral foundation so the church Christians are harder to deal with because they claim they do. Some people may be saved and still in the church system but many are not and making a claim for something they do not have which the hypocrisy is probably harder to bear.

I wrote an article about how poor people are leaving the churches. I have noticed how many are marketed for the middle class and above.

http://galatiansfour.blogspot.com/2011/10/are-poor-people-leaving-churches.html

Remember Christians can give far more to God then just "money" and most of the false church system is worshipping mammon as well.

Thanks!I'll have to read your article about the poor leaving the churches.
It really seems so obvious we are in the last days.I mean the trees are dying all over the world.Google that.Whether it's pollution, chemtrails,a mixture of things,it's bad.And yes chemtrails are real.I grew up in a sailing family,I crewed on a boat. You had to know the sky and the weather. It is imperative when out on the ocean.Where do they think they got the saying "red sky at night sailors delight"!I know my sky,and it was nothing like this growing up.People are in hugh denial.
And the technology we have makes evil things that much more evil.Although I quess some things better too,but the evil it magnifies,it seems to me.
Watch and pray!

BB, this is a great post, and so many heartfelt, insightful comments...it’s been a blessing to me to read it. Oh how wonderful it will be, in the Kingdom, when we can all be together and fellowshipping. I pray that everyone who posted will have their needs met through the Lord Jesus Christ.

I can’t imagine how hard it would be to be the only Christian in a hostile family. I’m blessed because there are two of us in the family who are Christians. We can talk about anything together, including the end of the age. In the last few years we have both left our churches and not joined new ones, although both we attend/visit other churches occasionally (we live in different States). We have also both separated from a couple of toxic, abusive people in our family, but there is love and respect with the rest of the family.

Yes poverty is hard, especially the fear of not being able to buy necessities such as food and shoes and car repairs and basic healthcare! For Christians, that is one of the primary functions of the church: To care for one another and share so that no-one is in dire want. It’s a main theme of the New Testament church, in the Epistles and Acts.

Is the modern “church” doing that? NO. In the mega-church I left a couple of years ago, it was revealed that the head pastor had a $2 Million home, drives a Jag, golfs at world-class golf courses, buys Rolex watches and rings for those faithful to him, and has a gambling addiction including visits to casinos. (Fyi –he was mentored by Greg Laurie). Not kidding. There is even more, but I won’t bore you. This is where the flock is pouring their money into…the shockingly deep and greedy pockets of false teachers, instead of taking care of their real brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s the shame and disgrace of the “last days” church.

Anyway, enough on that. My family is full of frugal deal-shoppers….I frequently shop at Goodwill and other resale shops. I find lots of nice clothes and household items! No one knows (unless they are shopping there too)! I recommend visiting resale shops located in upscale suburbs, they have the best merchandise. It’s worth the drive.

Sorry the post was so long. God bless, Aka Alert
