Brian McLaren's New Interfaith Book

He is basically selling UNIVERSALISM in this new book. You know those who believe all religions lead to the same place? Something that was promoted in the Unitarian-Universalist church? I've said for years what was taught in the micro-cosm NWO UU church is now being expanded out for a mass audience.

Can you be a committed Christian without having to condemn or convert people of other faiths? Is it possible to affirm other religious traditions without watering down your own? In his most important book yet, widely acclaimed author and speaker Brian McLaren proposes a new faith alternative, one built on "benevolence and solidarity rather than rivalry and hostility." This way of being Christian is strong but doesn't strong-arm anyone, going beyond mere tolerance to vigorous hospitality toward, interest in, and collaboration with the other. Blending history, narrative, and brilliant insight, McLaren shows readers step-by-step how to reclaim this strong-benevolent faith, challenging us to stop creating barriers in the name of God and learn how affirming other religions can strengthen our commitment to our own. And in doing so, he invites Christians to become more Christ-like than ever before.

Unbelieveable...but no surprise!

Yeah I'm not surprised. Seriously there is no difference with this guy and a Unitarian Universalist "minister".

Notice how all of these ecumenical, emergent church types love to wear their black rimmed glasses and come off as hipster metrosexuals. As if Ryan Seacrest was a Pastor. They never preach in a suit half the time. Usually a t-shirt with a design, and some dark blue jeans, maybe some effeminate skinny jeans. Their looks make me ill. They are too cool for school. They are too cool for traditional christianity. Pure snake oil salesmen.

And the funny little goatee. And maybe a bald head. They all seem to have that certain look. When I was young the church I attended was a Baptist church with the hymns and choir. Now it's gone emergent. I was checking it out online for old times sake and after looking at the pastors I thought they have that emergent pastor look. Further investigation proved the church was indeed something totally different.

What a piece of garbage book that is. What would be even more upsetting would be if it is sold in the "major Christian bookstores". Then it can go alongside the "Massage translation" and George Costanza reads the audio Bible series.

I would not doubt it is being sold now in major "Christian" bookstores.

Second to last Anon, I agree why do these pastors all dress and look the exact same? So many who are bald with funny little trimmed goatees and the "trendy" glasses and you are right the "metrosexual" look. They are becoming caricatures of themselves.

If you see the comment I made on the Fans of Whosoevers article, I wrote that Satan is using these "demographics" [sales marketing] and "alternative" cultures to deceive and essentially they are all about conformity and savoring what men do.

I just saw a you tube video of Katy Perry's 'pastor' dad Keith Hudson. Oh my gosh. Bald head, goatee, black rimmed glasses, black shirt AND big cross necklace. An all in one!

Absolutely BB, conformity and praising men, obeying men - not God.

Thank you for the interesting article, Bible Believer.

Do you know what the black and white stripes represent? The Beatles' Abbey Road album cover had them crossing zebra stripes, too. They also were included in the 2008 Olympics closing ceremony.

Anonymous on Nov 4, 2012 asked, "Do you know what the black and white stripes represent?"

The black and white stripes could be the masonic symbol for 'duality' as represented on their black and white floors in every lodge.

Masonic black and white stripes are also seen in front of the United States' IRS headquarters in Maryland. Google masonic-illuminati-symbolism-at-irs

Sigh. The world is rushing headlong into a one-world gov't and religion, and "christians" have not studied their Bibles enough to even know it!

McLaren's interfaith teachings are snatching these ignorant "christians" and dooming them to an eternity without Christ ... the Savior they say they follow. VERY sad!!
