"The Dark Side of the Oak Tree"
I always wondered why they were slapping trees all over the place, when a tree in the Bible--well the Mustard Tree is not seen as a good thing! Well I guess why wouldn't the birds of the air want to celebrate the tree they are sitting in? One thing this is a parable of Jesus's which is very misunderstood, all the phonies think the mustard tree is something good!
Mat 13:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
The blogger discusses their use of the oak tree imagery, and why that is:
Boykin's website admits to being part of Billy Graham's Lausanne Movement. This movement, whose goals are similar to that of the U.N. Millennium Development Goals, has expanded worldwide and have taken over the National Day of Prayer. Its goals and language are New Age, and they will likely usher-in the coming New Age [Masonic] christ.
Lt. Gen. Boykin shares the oak tree symbol with another big name in Christian ministry - Rick Warren. On the cover of his Purpose Driven Life, which has sold over 30 million copies, there sits an oak tree.
Ironically, Rick Warren also has connections to the Lausanne Movement. In June 2010, Saddleback Church hosted the Lausanne Global Conversation panel at their church . Additionally, Warren was on the advisory board for the 2010 Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization to be held in October in South Africa.
What Boykin and Warren have in common is that they signed the Lausanne Covenant. It is an ecumenical statement crafted to unify Ecumenical Jews, Evangelicals, Charismatics and Catholics worldwide. Although it is not apparent, it embraces the Emergent Church movement.
The Oak Tree Initiative which is also mentioned in her article seems to be another scary bunch. Some notable members include Boykin, Rick Joyner, Cindy Jacobs--[false NAR pastor], Nicholas F. Papanicolaou who is one of the co-chairs and co-founders of the World Public Forum "Dialogue of Civilizations" [see here],please check for other names too. They are linked to Lausanne and openly support it's covenant on their website. Kind of brings all those Calvary Chapel meetings with Boykin into perspective.
There's a lot of churches sharing in the oak tree imagery...
