Soul Winning and Scattered Sheep

Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
Col 4:6 Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Interesting verses, and ones us Christians should be following. I realize the importance of trying to give truth out to a lost world as much as possible, it is not always easy. I witnessed recently to one lady who had spoken of leaving a severe more legalistic Jehovah Witnesses cult where her family practiced active shunning, and now is an secularist or atheist telling her what Jesus truly taught and that being a Christian was not about being a slave to false teachers who seek to put people in bondage. The Christian who is walking with the Lord will attract others open to the truth who see the Holy Spirit in you. That said do not despair or quit, if you run into many who have refused the gospel, keep moving on, there is always someone new to bring the truth too. Remember here too, that in the Bible, no one listened to Noah, and other's who warned and preached the truth. Those who do any watchmen warnings, realize to even have the strength to continue because of the numbers who refuse to listen, you must warn and preach God's truth no matter if it is very few who listen or even at times, even none at all!

This world can feel like a very lonely place to the Christian. It is a struggle I face, as I have prayed to God to find some local Christian fellowship, but lately I've been thinking about this, didn't Jesus say the flock would be "scattered"? This verse helped me grow into more understanding about this matter, not so troubled about my status seemingly on a local basis of feeling like a "lone Christian" ranger.

Obviously the wolves have scattered the flock....

John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

From the OT: This verse was definitely a great one for me to read....

Ezekiel 34: 2 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

and

Mark 13:2
And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Especially in these days, Christians are out there, but definitely some are finding themselves more on their own.

But nonetheless...

Acts 8:1 makes it plain that all Christians are to be out there preaching the gospel and as you read notice how this is done as they are scattered and persecuted as well but still preaching the truth. So one thing to realize, no matter where you are, or your circumstances, in prison, down and out, living in a godless city with only apostate churches, preaching the gospel to others is to be of highest priority.

Act 8:1 ¶ And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Act 8:2 And devout men carried Stephen [to his burial], and made great lamentation over him.

Act 8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed [them] to prison.

Act 8:4 ¶ Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Amen, BB! Let's not forget, that the "woman" is clearly depicted as being in the "wilderness" in the Revelation. The true followers of the Lamb have always been persecuted and scattered. Yes, the congregation is the model given by the Apostles, but Jesus Christ warned that there would be tribulation--persecution against those who preach the true Gospel and the true Jesus Christ. This scattering is as if the Holy Spirit is keeping a remnant with His Word intact FROM forming a formal denomination or association. And did you know that the god of "associations" of "confederations" of "covenants" is Baalberith?

9ASSOCIATE YOURSELVES, O ye people, and YE SHALL BE BROKEN IN PIECES; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

10TAKE COUNSEL TOGETHER, AND IT SHALL COME TO NAUGHT; SPEAK THE WORD, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

11For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me THAT I SHOULD NOT WALK IN THE WAY OF THIS PEOPLE, saying,

12Say ye not, A CONFEDERACY, to all them to whom this people shall say, A CONFEDERACY; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

13Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let HIM be your fear, and let him be your dread.

14And he shall be FOR A SANCTUARY; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

16Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

17And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

18Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me ARE FOR SIGNS AND WONDERS in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

19And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

20To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

21And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

22And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness. Is. 8

Yes, the god of "confederacy" is Baalberith, and Isaiah is clearly referring to this god when he speaks of a "confederacy".

Take a look at how the evil leadership used this god in Judges 8 and 9. Anon. #1

I think back to even the Middle ages too, was thinking about this, all the "real" Christians were unground, and being killed by Rome when discovered. They were adrift too, not able to have public meetings though that changed a bit during the Reformation but of coruse we know what happened to the "Protestants", the majority became daughters. So yes Christians have always been persecuted and scattered and I supposed today is no different. It is interesting seeing how they are bringing the churches into marrying with the state here more and more in America. Few do not know it, but Obama has advanced even more more this stuff...bringing even secular community colleges into the net.

I find that verse very interesting, 'Confederacy" What a verse wow...because when you look at today's apostate churches, they sure love their conferences, their links, their ASSOCIATIONS, like a giant spider web, a lot of their energy rather then witnessing to anyone seems to be forming endless networks and insisting you be an "OFFICIAL" member of them.

"12Say ye not, A CONFEDERACY, to all them to whom this people shall say, A CONFEDERACY; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid."
