"The Hidden Exodus: Catholics Becoming Protestants"

This was published by a Catholic magazine: The National Catholic Reporter:

The Hidden Exodus: Catholics Becoming Protestants.

Sadly for many it will be a lateral move, there will be a group like myself who are truly born again, but nothing is really acheived from leaving the harlot, unsaved and entering into a "daughter" organization. I didn't realize the number was as high as one-third of all members, but it does not surprise me.

The U.S. Religious Landscape Survey by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life has put hard numbers on the anecdotal evidence: One out of every 10 Americans is an ex-Catholic. If they were a separate denomination, they would be the third-largest denomination in the United States, after Catholics and Baptists. One of three people who were raised Catholic no longer identifies as Catholic.

Any other institution that lost one-third of its members would want to know why. But the U.S. bishops have never devoted any time at their national meetings to discussing the exodus. Nor have they spent a dime trying to find out why it is happening.

Do the bishops really think people will believe they haven't discussed this?

I'm wondering what effect this is going to ultimately have on the Catholic church.

I know they have discussed it, there's papers even on the Vatican website discussing how many are leaving and the specifics of leaving. This one is interesting...See how #7 claims you are Catholic forever if baptized...

I think chances are the Catholic bishops have discussed this issue.

There can be no doubt they were aware of it.

Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

There is a tv program on the Catholic channel-I think it's called The Journey Home-about Catholics that have left and gone back to Catholicism. Every once in awhile I stop at that channel to check it out. As a home educator the Catholic homeschoolers interest me. They use the Christian textbooks(Abeka,Christian Light, etc.) but many of them use science books that teach evolution theory.

So you are an Orthodox Christian?

I thought it was something related to the Catholic church.

Thanks for answering. I was planning a blog entry on the Orthodox [they have the Greek and Russian etc] church.

I guess I didn't realize they follow the Trad Catholics in regards to the deceptions about the Jews.

Where do you stand on the interfaith movement, there is always tons of Orthie "patriarch" types hanging out with the Roman Catholic Pope during interreligious dialogue endeavors.

From the link you provided me:
"■1995 Patr. Bartholomew I visits Vatican; Lutheran-Orthodox Joint Commission issues statement “Understanding of Salvation in the Light of the Ecumenical Councils”; Pope John Paul II issues encyclical Orientale Lumen, encouraging reunion between East and West."

"

I consider the Orthodox church a branch of the harlot. Sorry if that offends you, but that is my belief, same false sacramentalism and teaching. Well I'll do the blog entry soon.

The "orthodox church" is a branch of the harlot. And as you can see, they teach their people to persecute Jewish people, but Jesus wants us blessing and protecting Jewish people.

The orthodox are the ones who first laid the foundation of apostasy upon which Rome has been building her own kingdom. Anon. #1

A bunch of people that hate Jewish people? Do you realize that Jesus is Jewish? All the first Christians were all Jewish? That the Lord curses those that hate Jewish people? That hate itself is from Satan?

Blind guides, these Jew haters.

Bible Believer said...

I agree with the last anon. Within the Orthodox church and Catholic church there is a tradition of hatred of Jews even if Vatican II put the ecumenical veneer on everything later on. Yes Jesus was Jewish. They do not discern that when they renounce Jewish people and preach hatred for them, they are going against God's Word. Of course such types do not realize the difference between the true Judaism of the Torah or the Old Testament, and the later babylonianism that came in with the Talmud and Kabbalah etc, the same babylonianism that serves as the foundation for their false Orthodox and Catholic church.

There will be nothing I can say to defend my Catholic Church, but saying nothing isn't ok. I ask you, and anyone influenced by your writing, to challenge yourself to gather more information about Church history. One place to start is a book that helped me come back to the Holy Mother Church. "The Faith of the Early Church Fathers", a 3 volume set by William A. Jurgens, you can find the writings, unedited, from individuals who wrote in the first century. You will actually read how decisions came to happen to form Christian tradition in place today.
God's Peace be with you.
In Christ,
Don a faithful Catholic

I have studied some early church history, I found men that seemed to go against the teachings of the Bible. In fact one concern I have is those "early church fathers" can steer many people wrong. One should only trust scripture in being true. The apostles in the book of Acts warned of "grievous wolves" even during that time. Ask yourself how and why you should trust in "early church fathers". The Catholic church presents a false history and even many of the writings have been discovered as having been forged. When I was leaving the Catholic church, I read some of their writings, and I can see how they could trip up a well intended person. We need to trust in God's Word though and not additions to it. Praying for you Don.

Read the entire chapter of Revelation 17! That is about The Catholic Church! The Blood on Their Hands that it speaks about, is Blood from REAL CHRISTIANS, That The Harlot Catholic Church Keeps Hidden (BUT NOT FROM GOD, WHO REVEALS HIDDEN COVERED UP SIN & CORRUPTION TO HIS TRUE SERVANTS!!) But Revelation 17 talks about What The Catholic Church DID To The Christians!! THEY MURDERED THEM & TORTURED THEM....THEY WERE DRUNKEN FROM THEIR INSATIABLE TORTURING OF THE SAINTS....READ ALL ABOUT IT IN, "FOXE'S BOOK OF THE MARTYRS"!! THE CATHOLIC CHURCH NEVER REPENTED FOR COMMITING THOSE MURDERS, AND THE LORD IS GOING AFTER THEM....POPE AND ALL!!!

Bible Believer said...

Yes they murdered them. I believe they will keep doing so too. Rome isn't finished with its oppression of the saints and antichrist Pope.
